- 1 pound cooked lobster meat, cut into chunks
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese, shredded
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill or other soft herbs such as chives or parsley, chopped
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay or seafood seasoning
- Kosher salt
- Freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup potato chips, crushed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- Add the cream cheese, sour cream, mayo, Worcestershire, lemon juice, lemon zest, seasonings, and dill to a large bowl and mix to combine.
- Add the Gruyere to the bowl and mix.
- Finally add the lobster meat and carefully fold into the dip to combine.
- Spread the lobster dip into a medium sized baking dish or cast-iron skillet.
- Crumble potato chips over the top.
- Allow the lobster dip to bake for 20-25 minutes, or until it’s bubby and the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for 5-10 minutes before serving with your favorite dippers.
Notes
- This same recipe can be prepared on the grill or pellet smoker. Prepare your grill for indirect grilling and allow it to preheat to 400 degrees. Place the skillet on the cooler zone of the grill and allow it to bake for 20-30 minutes, rotating halfway through for even cooking.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of cheeses. Pick a good melting cheese like fontina, mozzarella, or Monterey jack.
- You can prepare this dip a day or two in advance up to the point of baking. Keep it tightly covered in the refrigerator and top it off with the potato chips prior to baking.
