Instructions to How to Make Colossal Shrimp Cocktail:

  1. Defrost overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Bring a large pot to a boil. and add a tablespoon of sea salt, old bay or your favorite seasoning.
  3. Add defrosted shrimp and cook for no more than 4 minutes.
  4. Remove quickly and submerge in a bowl of ice.
  5. Refrigerate for two hours or even overnight, drain and serve.

I often buy the huge lobster tails for special occasions. I recently took a trip to visit friends in Las Vegas, where everything is "bigger and better". Well, the cost at restaurants was certainly bigger, but the food wasn't better. So I ordered two pounds of these babies and prepared Shrimp Scampi with chopped fresh parsley, minced garlic, and just enough butter to lubricate the bottom of the pan. To say everyone who tasted these big guys went crazy is not an understatement. Not only were the shrimp huge, but individually delicious. It made for a memorable culinary experience they cannot find in the best Vegas restaurants.
